Are you interested in helping your community? Interested in helping people and making a difference? Interested in getting valuable life experiences?
East Penn Search and Rescue is seeking motivated individuals who would like to make a difference in their community where they live and work.
As a volunteer, you will learn valuable skills, develop lasting friendships, and enjoy self-satisfaction, all while helping your friends and neighbors. You don't need previous experience or training; we provide your training.
Our membership process is very simple. Complete a Membership Application and submit it. You will be contacted and invited to an interview.
Following the interview you will be invited to a general meeting, and start your (6) month probationary period. During this period, you will be expected to attend weekend trainings where you will learn basic search and rescue knowledge and skills. You will learn the processes of participating with a wilderness search and rescue team.
In addition, probationary members are encouraged to spend time at drills to become familiar with equipment, procedures, and our members. Once you complete your probationary period, you will be issued personal protective equipment and become eligible to run calls.
Following the (6) month probationary period, your permanent membership will be voted upon during the next general membership meeting.
